I here that - He might be a bit of a lecherous perv on Rock of Love, but wouldnt you be if you had the chance at his age? and he actually comes off as pretty respectable on Celebrity Apprentice. And hes not half as ridiculous as, say, Axl Rose. Give the guy a break already.Despite bringing to the table a sky-high snark quotient, Bret Michaels has always struck me as a pretty decent guy and more self-aware than the average reality show or rock star. I mean the man has suffered through more bad health than three typical 80 year old men combined and yet, hes continued to have a really good, positive outlook on things. Lead singer and guitarist Andrew Churchman thanked his band mates for years of service and presided over a lively version of Dont Take It, a song that, like many in the 40-minute set, was indebted to the Smiths, the Decemberists, and a host of lesser-known acts.Amelia Fletcher, lead singer of Tender Trap and, before that, genre heavies Talulah Gosh, Heavenly and Marine Research actually did tear up during her set, though not because of Pants Yells imminent demise. Over the last 25 years, Fletchers musical travels have brought her to the city many times, and Fridays performance came after a long day of riding the subway, seeing the sights and reliving old memories. Joining her, both on stage and for the nostalgia trip, was bassist Rob Pursey, the father of her two children and a veteran member of all four of her bands.Backed by three other musicians, including stand-up drummer Katrina Dixon and guitarist Elizabeth Darling, ukulele-playing frontwoman of ace opener Allo Darlin, Fletcher and Pursey unveiled a rougher, tougher Tender Trap.
